Mombie #Anti-MLM

Hi there!

Welcome! If you found yourself here, it’s likely because you are anti-MLM and looking to get into activism, or you are interested in learning about MLMs and what makes them so problematic. First, let me introduce myself. I’m Ceara, aka Mombie. I am 36 year old SAHM who started researching multi-level marketing five years ago and became passionate about educating the public on why they are predatory and unethical. Here I hope to provide insight, information, and resources to help you as an anti-MLM activist or as someone just finding your way.

I am firm in the belief that it is the companies themselves who create a cult-like environment. One that keeps reps hooked on a pipe dream of “financial freedom.” It is this CULTure of toxic positivity and manipulation that leads reps to act in dubious ways, much like victims of religious cults. Rep behavior is a symptom of a much larger, and well-orchestrated problem. So remember, here we are anti-MLM not anti-Hun. It is counterintuitive to anti-MLM activism to demonize and shame reps. That is not to say we must avoid criticizing predatory behaviors, manipulation tactics, and logical fallacies. It is saying one should keep in mind that reps are victims of psychological abuse, and shaming someone has never gotten anyone out of MLM.

If you are a rep, please know you are as welcomed here as the most seasoned anti-MLM activists, but the content here may make you uncomfortable. It may feel offensive, and you may want to revert to listening to what your team and upline have told you and write us off as “haters.” I ask that you do your best to keep an open mind, ruminate on the content before responding, and leave the ad hominem at home. Some great conversations and relationships can develop if you hold off on just seeing us as the enemy. And who knows? Maybe you’ll learn something new 🙂

It’s my aspiration that this site can be another addition to our arsenal in the fight against scams. Activism is not a solo endeavor. It requires a community effort, and I want you to realize you have the power to cause change. If we work together, big things can and will happen. Are you willing to take that step?
